Ethopian Restaurant in Calgary Offers a Unique Menu and Saves Money Using Barter

For jaded diners who cannot stand the thought of another steak sandwich, the Marathon, in trendy Kensington, offers spicy and exotic concoctions of Ethiopian cuisine. Served in the traditional Ethiopian manner, the food consists of dozens of exotic pastes served on flat round bread, which does double-duty as both a plate and utensil. The pastes are exciting concoctions of lamb, beef, chicken, lima beans and vegetable mixes. There are full vegetarian combinations available as well. Meals are generally communal affairs, with up to five people eating off of one large round-bread.

As a business, Marathon also saves cash by trading excess inventory in open tables using barter. This allows them to convert this open table space into trade dollars to be used on key expenses associated with running a business.
